Dallas, TX — A tragic act of violence has claimed the life of 17-year-old Jaden McMillan, who was fatally shot on the evening of July 10, 2025, at the Saint James Apartments in the 3100 block of Easter Avenue.
Around 6:40 PM, Dallas Police officers were dispatched to the location following a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found Jaden suffering from a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded quickly and transported him to a nearby hospital, where, despite emergency efforts, Jaden later succumbed to his injuries.
Early findings in the investigation indicate that Jaden was shot by an unidentified suspect, who fled the scene before authorities arrived. The exact circumstances leading to the shooting remain under active investigation.
Jaden’s death has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken. Just 17 years old, Jaden was a young man with hopes and dreams, a bright future cut short by senseless violence. His passing marks yet another painful reminder of the toll gun violence continues to take on youth and families across Dallas.
The Dallas Police Department’s Homicide Unit is pursuing all leads and is asking for the public’s help in bringing the person responsible to justice. Investigators urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything, or who has any information related to this shooting, to come forward.
