With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of William Anthony DeMorato, affectionately known to all as Billy. Surrounded by love and family, Billy passed away peacefully at his home in Hulmeville on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the age of 58.
Born on December 4, 1966, to the late William DeMorato and Christina Palumbo, Billy lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around him. He was a man with a heart of gold—a true embodiment of compassion and selflessness. Whether you were family, friend, or stranger, Billy welcomed you with a warm smile and open arms. He would offer the shirt off his back or his last dollar to someone in need without a second thought.
Billy’s loyalty and sincerity made him unforgettable. He had a gentle soul and a joyful spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His love for life was simple yet profound—he found joy in the little things, and his laughter was infectious.
Family was everything to Billy. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his niece and nephews who brought him so much happiness and pride. He was a devoted brother and a fun-loving, attentive uncle who never missed a chance to brighten their days.
Billy loved playing cards, working on puzzles, and shopping for just the right item to make someone smile. He adored his dogs and shared a deep bond with them. Music and dance were also dear to his heart—he was a lifelong fan of Michael Jackson, and nothing delighted him more than singing along to a favorite song or showing off his dance moves.
A true foodie, Billy loved going out to eat, with Applebee’s holding a special place as his favorite restaurant. It was never just about the food, but the time spent enjoying the company of those he loved.
Billy’s passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be forever missed by his devoted siblings: Anthony DeMorato, Teresa Scimeca and her husband Anthony, and Angelique Buchanan and her husband Scot. His beloved nephews and niece—Antonino, Giovanni, Cole, and Kaylin—will carry his memory with them always, along with countless family members and friends whose lives he touched so deeply.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Interment for Billy will be announced at a later date, and all who knew and loved him will be welcomed to come together in celebration of his beautiful life.
Rest in peace, Billy.
Your kindness, laughter, and love will echo in our hearts forever. You may be gone from our sight, but you’ll never be gone from our lives.
