SEARCH UPDATE — Burnet County Flooding Rescue Efforts

As of the time of this post, Burnet County emergency responders have valiantly answered over 63 calls for rescue related to the recent devastating flooding event. Our community continues to face a tremendous challenge in the wake of these catastrophic waters.

Tragically, there have been 5 confirmed fatalities as a result of the flooding, each loss a profound sorrow felt deeply by families, friends, and neighbors alike. Our hearts go out to those grieving, and the entire county stands united in support and remembrance.

In addition to these losses, there remains 1 known missing person — a figure held close by the community and emergency personnel alike. That individual is none other than Fire Chief Mike Phillips, a dedicated leader and beloved figure in Burnet County’s firefighting community.
