ST. LOUIS, MO – July 14, 2025- The St. Louis community is reeling from the devastating loss of 16-year-old Elijah Mullins, who was tragically shot and killed in broad daylight in North City on Friday, July 11. What began as a routine trip to the store turned into a nightmare that has left a family shattered and a neighborhood grieving.
According to the St. Louis City Police Department, officers from District 6 responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Lillian and Beacon around 10:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a teenage male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but despite life-saving efforts, Elijah Mullins succumbed to his injuries.
A Simple Errand Turned Tragic
Family members shared that Elijah was riding his bicycle to a neighborhood store to buy snacks before heading to work when the incident occurred. He was described as a hardworking young man, full of ambition and joy. Witnesses say Elijah attempted to ride back home after being shot but collapsed just a block away from his destination. He never made it back.
The senseless violence that took his life has left the Mullins family devastated and a community searching for answers. Elijah’s youth, innocence, and potential make this loss particularly difficult to comprehend.
