In Loving Memory of Lois Richardson, Class of 2025

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Lois Richardson, a cherished member of the Class of 2025, who died on Saturday, July 12. The loss of such a bright, compassionate, and kind young person has left our school and wider community in deep mourning.

Lois was more than just a student—she was a source of warmth, sincerity, and quiet strength. Known for her gentle heart, thoughtful nature, and unwavering kindness, Lois touched the lives of everyone around her. Whether it was a classmate struggling with a tough day, a friend in need of support, or a teacher looking for a helping hand, Lois was always there—without question, without hesitation.

A Life of Kindness and Compassion

Lois had a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Her smile could brighten a room, and her empathy had a way of comforting others even in the smallest moments. She volunteered her time, supported school initiatives, and was always willing to extend herself to others in need.

Whether in the classroom, on campus, or at school events, Lois radiated kindness. She was known for her quiet leadership, her strong sense of justice, and her genuine compassion—qualities that made her a beloved classmate, a loyal friend, and a role model among her peers.

“She had a way of lifting others up, just by being herself,” said one of her classmates. “Lois didn’t have to try to be kind. It was just who she was.”

A Community in Mourning

As the news of her passing spreads, messages of sorrow and remembrance have poured in from friends, teachers, mentors, and members of the broader community. Counselors have been made available on campus to support students and faculty as they grieve this tragic loss.

Our hearts ache not only for the absence of Lois, but also for the unfulfilled future—a life of purpose and love that ended far too soon. She was a daughter, a friend, a classmate, and a light in this world that will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Honoring Lois’s Legacy

In honor of Lois’s memory, plans are underway to organize a memorial service on campus, as well as a dedicated space where students and faculty can write messages, leave flowers, and reflect on the impact she made in her time with us.

In addition, there are discussions about launching a scholarship or community service initiative in her name—something that captures her spirit of compassion and commitment to helping others.

We believe the best way we can honor Lois is to live with the same openness, gentleness, and generosity that she modeled every day. To reach out to those who are hurting. To be present for each other. And to never underestimate the power of kindness, no matter how small.

With Deepest Sympathy

Our thoughts and deepest prayers are with Lois’s family and loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time. We hope they find strength in knowing how deeply she was loved by her school family, and how widely her loss is felt.

To the Richardson family: we mourn with you, and we stand with you. Lois’s memory will always be a part of this school’s story. Her presence is imprinted on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Lois Richardson.
Your light continues to shine in the love you gave and the lives you changed.
You will be missed more than words can express.
