It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the line-of-duty death of Firefighter Jonathan Ashworth, age 23, of the Beauregard Parish Fire Protection District in Louisiana.
On the evening of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, while responding to a medical emergency, Firefighter Ashworth was involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident. Despite the immediate response and valiant life-saving efforts at the scene, Jonathan succumbed to his injuries. He gave his life while serving others—a true testament to his bravery and unwavering dedication.
Jonathan Ashworth was more than just a firefighter. He was a protector, a servant, a brother-in-arms, and a beloved member of the community. From the very beginning of his service, he embodied the core values of the fire service: courage, integrity, selflessness, and duty. He faced each call with the determination to make a difference and with the heart of a hero.
At just 23 years old, Jonathan had already proven himself as a fearless responder and an inspiration to his peers. His commitment to the safety and wellbeing of Beauregard Parish was evident in every shift he worked and every life he touched. His passing leaves a void not only within our department, but across the entire community.
