Remembering Dr. Tom Albiero, DDS: A Life of Service, Compassion, and Community Impact

Germantown, WI — The community of Germantown and West Bend is mourning the profound loss of Dr. Tom Albiero, DDS — a beloved dentist, devoted family man, and tireless community servant whose legacy of care and compassion will continue to inspire for generations to come. Dr. Albiero passed away leaving behind a deep and lasting imprint on the lives of his patients, peers, friends, and family.

A native of Wisconsin, Dr. Albiero’s journey into healthcare was marked by academic excellence and a calling to serve. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire before completing his dental education at the Marquette University School of Dentistry. Following graduation, he expanded his training through a general practice residency in Minneapolis, Minnesota — a formative experience that shaped his commitment to comprehensive patient care.

In 1983, Dr. Albiero moved to Germantown and founded Dental Professionals, where he faithfully served patients for over four decades. Known for his gentle approach, skilled hands, and ability to connect personally with those in his care, Dr. Albiero became much more than a healthcare provider — he became a trusted presence in the lives of countless families across the region. Generations came through his doors, and many stayed with his practice for life.

But Dr. Albiero’s service extended far beyond his dental office. His enduring belief that quality healthcare should be accessible to everyone led him to dedicate significant time to volunteerism and nonprofit outreach. Since 2009, he was deeply involved in providing care at free dental clinics throughout the area. His heart for service culminated in his integral role with the Albrecht Free Clinic in West Bend — a nonprofit dedicated to providing medical and dental care to uninsured residents of Washington County.

Even after his retirement from full-time dentistry in 2023, Dr. Albiero remained a steadfast supporter of the clinic, volunteering his time and lending his expertise. His contributions helped shape the clinic’s long-term vision, ensuring that many in need would continue to receive compassionate, high-quality care.

Dr. Albiero’s professional accomplishments were numerous. He was a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction that recognized both his clinical excellence and his ongoing pursuit of professional education. He was held in the highest regard by his peers, who admired not only his skill but also his integrity and humility.

Outside of dentistry, Tom Albiero was a man of deep faith, strong family values, and quiet generosity. He shared over 30 years of marriage with his beloved wife Mary, and together they raised five children. In later years, he found great joy in his role as a grandfather to eleven grandchildren, cherishing time spent with them and creating memories that will live on in their hearts.

In retirement, Dr. Albiero enjoyed a life filled with simple pleasures: cheering on his grandchildren, participating in community causes, and enjoying a round of golf or a quiet moment with Mary. His friends remember him for his warm smile, unwavering work ethic, and his sincere dedication to uplifting others.

In recognition of his incredible service and leadership, Dr. Albiero was honored as Germantown Citizen of the Year in 1996 — a testament to the many lives he touched and the countless hours he gave in support of the community he loved.

His passing marks a significant loss not only for the Germantown and West Bend areas but for all who were blessed to know him. Yet, even in grief, there is immense gratitude — for a life lived with purpose, for a heart poured out in service, and for a legacy that will continue to shape lives and communities for years to come.

Dr. Tom Albiero is survived by his loving wife Mary, their five children, and eleven grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him — as a dentist, a volunteer, a mentor, a neighbor, a father, and a friend.

In lieu of flowers, the Albiero family kindly requests that donations be made to the Albrecht Free Clinic in Dr. Albiero’s memory. It is a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much of himself so that others could smile again.

May his memory be a blessing, and may his example continue to light the way.
