Madera County, CA — July 17, 2025
The Madera County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 75-year-old Robert “Bob” Boyajian, a well-known and deeply respected resident of the Bass Lake area. What began as a Missing Person Alert last weekend has now ended in tragedy, as authorities confirmed that Bob was found deceased after several days of extensive searching.
Bob was last seen on the morning of Saturday, July 12, 2025, and his sudden disappearance immediately sparked concern among family, friends, and neighbors who knew him as a kind, dependable, and active member of the community. Described as warm-hearted and always willing to lend a helping hand, Bob was a familiar face to many in Bass Lake and the surrounding Madera County area.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside search and rescue teams and community volunteers, launched a large-scale search that included ground crews, K9 units, drones, and aerial support. Flyers were distributed, alerts were shared, and residents remained hopeful that Bob would be found safe.
Unfortunately, on Wednesday evening, search crews located Bob’s body in a remote area not far from where he was last believed to have been. The exact circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation, but officials do not suspect foul play at this time. The Sheriff’s Office has stated that they are working closely with the coroner to determine the cause and manner of death.
News of Bob’s passing has sent shockwaves through the community. Social media has since been flooded with tributes from friends, family, and neighbors remembering his gentle spirit, good humor, and the legacy he leaves behind. Many recall his deep love for nature, his dedication to his family, and the pride he took in being part of the Bass Lake community.
“Our hearts are broken,” said one neighbor. “Bob was the kind of man who made you feel at home in this town. Always with a smile, always ready to help. He will be deeply missed by all of us.”
Bob leaves behind a loving family, including his children, grandchildren, and countless friends who considered him more than just a neighbor—but part of their extended family. The community has already begun planning a memorial service to celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on those around him.
At this time, the Boyajian family has requested privacy as they process this devastating loss, but they have expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported the search and offered prayers, resources, and comfort over the past several days.
Anyone wishing to honor Bob’s memory is encouraged to share their stories, photos, or condolences with the family through a dedicated memorial page being set up by loved ones.
Rest in peace, Bob. Your memory will forever be cherished, and your presence will always be felt in the forests, trails, and hearts of Bass Lake.
