The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that they are responding to the incident, while initial scene assessment was conducted by the Clio Police Department, who arrived ahead of deputies due to a concurrent vehicle collision in the Wallace area that had tied up resources.
Details of the Incident
According to early reports, a vehicle struck a residential apartment complex in Clio, causing structural damage and alarming residents inside. Witnesses reported a loud impact followed by the sight of a suspect exiting the vehicle and running from the scene. No serious injuries to building occupants have been reported as of now, but authorities are continuing to check for any delayed or minor injuries and evaluate the stability of the structure.
Law Enforcement Response
Due to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office being occupied with a separate vehicle crash investigation in Wallace, Clio Police officers were first to arrive on the scene in Clio, quickly working to secure the area and ensure the safety of residents.
