In Loving Memory of Kimary Marchese: A Brave Spirit Now at Peace

It is with great sadness, and with a heart heavy in both grief and gratitude, that I share the passing of a dear classmate and friend, Kimary Marchese. After fighting a long, courageous, and deeply inspiring battle with cancer, Kimary’s suffering has ended, and she is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus—free from pain, full of glory, and rejoicing in eternity.

Kimary was a gentle soul with a fierce spirit. She fought her illness with a grace that left all of us in awe—never once giving in to bitterness, and always choosing hope, faith, and love. Her strength wasn’t just in her physical endurance, but in the way she chose to live with purpose even in the most trying of times. She found ways to smile through the struggle, to uplift others while enduring her own pain, and to hold tight to her faith when everything around her seemed uncertain.

Over the past few weeks, I had been texting with Kimary. We had been encouraging one another—two fellow travelers on this difficult cancer journey, leaning on each other for support, understanding, and prayer. Her messages were always filled with sincerity, warmth, and a kind of quiet wisdom that spoke to the depth of her spirit. Even when her words were few, they carried so much comfort and light. I cherished those moments of connection, and I will always be grateful for them.

When I hadn’t heard from Kimary for a while, I reached out to her husband, George, and that’s when I learned the heartbreaking news. Kimary had passed. In that moment, a flood of emotions washed over me—shock, sorrow, and then a quiet peace in knowing that her pain was over. She is now whole again, rejoicing in Heaven, and reunited with the One who sustained her through every trial.

To her husband, George, we offer our deepest condolences. We know your heart is broken in ways words cannot mend, and we are praying for you. May you feel surrounded by love, held in comfort, and uplifted by the same faith that carried Kimary through her darkest days. Your love for her was clear, and the strength you showed by her side does not go unnoticed. We are holding you close in our hearts during this unimaginably painful time.

Kimary’s life was a testament to enduring faith, unshakable kindness, and a spirit that refused to be dimmed by disease. Her journey touched many, not because of how long she lived, but because of how deeply she loved. She will be remembered not only as a classmate but as a warrior, a friend, and a beacon of grace.

As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life—a life that mattered, that made a difference, and that continues to inspire those of us still fighting, still healing, still hoping. She may no longer be texting from the other side of the phone, but her words, her courage, and her memory live on in each of us.

Rest well, sweet Kimary. You fought the good fight, you finished the race, and you kept the faith. And now, you’ve received your crown of glory.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
