Cheektowaga, NY — July 20, 2025 – Shortly before 10:30 AM on Sunday, July 20, 2025, officers from the Cheektowaga Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire at a residence on Lackawanna Avenue in the Village of Sloan.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a two-year-old child had been injured by gunfire inside the home. Emergency responders acted swiftly, and the child was immediately transported to Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, where the child is currently undergoing emergency surgery. The condition of the child is critical but has not been publicly confirmed at this time.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation, and details are still emerging. Officers and investigators from multiple units are canvassing the area and conducting interviews with witnesses to piece together the events that led to this tragic incident.
