Motor Vehicle Accident in Franklinville Sends Four to Hospital, One Airlifted

Franklinville, NC – A serious two-vehicle collision occurred this morning, July 21, 2025, at approximately 9:48 AM at the intersection of Low Bridge Road and Highway 49 North, prompting a swift and coordinated emergency response.

Franklinville Fire Department’s A-Shift was dispatched immediately, with Car 8 and Rescue 8 arriving on the scene to find significant damage to both vehicles. One vehicle had sustained such extensive structural damage that its occupants were trapped and unable to exit.

Rescue crews quickly initiated extrication procedures and worked diligently to free the individuals inside. A total of four patients were involved in the accident. Three of the victims were transported to local hospitals via ground ambulance, while one individual, due to the severity of their injuries, was airlifted by Life Flight to a nearby trauma center.

Emergency crews remained on site for nearly two hours, clearing debris, stabilizing the vehicles, and ensuring all hazards were mitigated. The area was secured to allow for a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash.

The Franklinville Fire Department praised the coordinated efforts of all first responders, including EMS, Life Flight personnel, and supporting law enforcement agencies, whose rapid response undoubtedly made a difference in the outcome for the victims.

At this time, the condition of those injured has not been released, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
