According to a press release from the Hickory Police Department, Jordan was riding his 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on North Center Street when it collided with a 2016 Nissan Frontier that was attempting to turn left onto the same street. The driver of the Frontier, Charles Christopher Cagle, 70, of Hickory, was traveling eastbound on 22nd Avenue NW at the time of the collision.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Jordan Daughaday was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation determined that excessive speed by the motorcycle may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
