Fatal Traffic Crash Claims Life in Antelope Valley; One Seriously Injured

ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA — On the late evening of July 22, 2025, tragedy struck in the high desert when a deadly traffic accident occurred on 150th Street East, just south of Avenue M. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to reports of the crash at approximately 11:13 p.m., and what they found was a sobering reminder of the dangers of driving without proper precautions.

According to a preliminary investigation by CHP, a 2005 Infiniti driven by an adult male—identity being withheld pending notification of next of kin—was traveling northbound on 150th Street East when the vehicle veered off the east side of the roadway. After briefly re-entering the road, the car crossed over to the west edge, left the pavement again, and crashed violently into a large boulder on the west dirt shoulder.

The force of the collision had devastating consequences. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A passenger, identified as K. Daughtry, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained major injuries. Emergency responders provided aid on site before transporting the injured individual for urgent medical treatment.

CHP officials have confirmed that neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash—a factor believed to have significantly worsened the outcome.

The cause of the crash is still under active investigation, with authorities exploring whether alcohol or drugs may have played a role. Toxicology reports are pending, and investigators are working to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the crash.

The identity of the deceased driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. For official information, families are encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner/Coroner’s Office at (323) 343-0512.

CHP is now calling on the public for assistance. Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have relevant information about the vehicle’s movements prior to the collision, is urged to contact the California Highway Patrol Antelope Valley Area Office at (661) 743-6060 during regular business hours. After hours, the Los Angeles Traffic Management Center can be reached at (323) 259-3200.

This heartbreaking incident stands as another painful reminder of the critical importance of wearing seatbelts and driving with caution—especially at night and on remote stretches of road. As the community mourns the loss of life and prays for the recovery of K. Daughtry, authorities hope that lessons can be learned to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
