In Loving Memory of Alison Campbell: Victim of Tragic A96 Collision Near Inverness

INVERNESS, SCOTLAND – The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Alison Campbell, a 65-year-old woman who tragically lost her life in a devastating two-vehicle crash on the A96 Inverness to Nairn road. The fatal accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, approximately one mile east of the airport roundabout.

Alison was a passenger in a red Vauxhall Insignia when it was involved in a collision with a white Ford Transit Tipper van. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, but despite the best efforts of first responders, Alison was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of her injuries.

The 69-year-old driver of the Vauxhall, believed to be known to Alison, sustained critical injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, where he remains in serious condition under close medical supervision. The driver of the van was fortunately uninjured, and has been cooperating fully with investigators.

Police Scotland’s Sergeant Kate Finlayson of the Road Policing Unit issued a public statement expressing condolences to the family of Alison Campbell, saying:

“Our thoughts are with Alison’s family and friends at this difficult time. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing. I’d like to thank everyone who has provided information so far and ask anyone else who saw what happened or has dash-cam footage to come forward.”

The tragic collision has sent ripples of sorrow through the local community, with many expressing sadness at the sudden and unexpected loss of a woman remembered for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her loved ones.
