With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of William Henry Brown, Jr., age 52, of Marydel, Maryland, who departed this life on July 21, 2025, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. His journey on this earth came to a peaceful close, surrounded by those who loved him, after a life marked by resilience, love, and quiet strength.

Born and raised in Maryland, William—affectionately known by many as “Will” or “Billy”—was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and neighbor. He was known for his gentle spirit, kind heart, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether it was lending a hand with a home project, offering a listening ear, or cracking a well-timed joke to lighten a room, William was the kind of man whose presence left a lasting impact.

Throughout his life, William found meaning in simple joys—spending time outdoors, caring for his family, and taking pride in honest work. He was deeply rooted in his community and was someone who could always be counted on, especially in times of need. Friends and neighbors alike respected his integrity, his humility, and his quiet, steadfast nature.

William’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will be forever cherished. His legacy lives on through the stories told by those who loved him, the acts of kindness he offered without recognition, and the countless ways he showed up for his family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 27, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, located at 118 W. Cross Street, Galena, MD. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., where family, friends, and community members will gather to honor his life, share memories, and say their goodbyes.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made directly to the Galena Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses during this difficult time. Every gesture of support is deeply appreciated and a testament to the community that William held dear.

Though William Henry Brown, Jr. has left this earthly life, his spirit remains ever-present—in the laughter of his loved ones, in the quiet strength of those he inspired, and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
