With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Lem C. Stabler Jr., a cherished husband, devoted father, treasured Grandpa, and dearest friend. Lem departed this world on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, following a sudden cardiac event. He was 73 years old.
That day began like so many others—with love. At 1 p.m., Lem took the time to FaceTime his beloved granddaughter Luci, telling her how deeply he loved her, a final gift of presence and warmth. Just two hours later, at 3 p.m., his journey on this earth came to a quiet end. He passed peacefully, surrounded by “his girls,” enveloped in love, and completely aware of how deeply and unconditionally he was adored.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Lem is now fully healed, free from pain, and embraced in the arms of his Savior. A man of unshakable faith, Lem lived a life of integrity, gentleness, and strength, anchored by his devotion to Christ and his family. It’s not just that he believed—it’s that he lived his beliefs. Daily. Quietly. Consistently.
Born on January 4, 1952, Lem was a man who moved through life with quiet confidence and a spirit of adventure. He loved nature, solitude, and the beauty of God’s creation. He often spoke of life as a trail—some parts rocky, some gentle, all of it leading somewhere greater. It’s only fitting that those closest to him now say:
“Lem placed his backpack on his back and hit the trails for the Great Beyond. Hike free, my love. Until we meet again.”
Lem’s love story was one for the ages. As a husband, he was deeply devoted—tender, protective, and unwavering. As a father, he was present, wise, and profoundly proud. And as a Grandpa, he was magic—full of laughter, nicknames, silly voices, and boundless love. Every grandchild knew that Grandpa’s arms were always open and his stories were always ready.
His legacy is one of faith, gentleness, and fierce love. He taught by example—how to listen before speaking, how to serve quietly, how to cherish your people. He never needed recognition; his joy came from knowing his family was safe, cared for, and held close.
Lem is survived by the love of his life, his wife and constant companion; his children, who carry his spirit in their own hearts; and his grandchildren, who will grow up knowing that they were adored beyond measure by a man who will never be forgotten.
As we grieve, we also give thanks—for the years we had, the memories we made, the quiet wisdom he gave so freely. Though his physical presence is gone, his fingerprints remain on our lives, in every story shared, every mountain climbed, every time we whisper “I love you” just because.
Until we meet again, Lem—
May the trail be gentle, the views breathtaking, and the journey eternal.
Hike free.
We love you always.
