BILLINGS, MT — A somber scene unfolded on Thursday morning as Skyway Drive, a key arterial road in Billings, reopened to traffic following a fatal crash that claimed the life of one person the night before. The collision, which involved a pickup truck, led to an overnight road closure between Alkali Creek Road and Zimmerman Trail, as investigators worked through the night to process the wreckage and piece together what caused the devastating accident.
The crash occurred late Wednesday night, with initial emergency calls coming in shortly before 10:30 p.m. According to preliminary reports, the pickup truck was traveling along the stretch of Skyway Drive when it veered off course and slammed into a roadside embankment.
