Authorities Seek Public’s Help Identifying Potential Suspect in the Murder of Clinton and Cristen Brink

WEST FORK, Ark. – The Arkansas State Police (ASP) has released a composite sketch of a man believed to be a person of interest in the brutal double homicide that occurred on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Devil’s Den State Park in Washington County. Law enforcement officials are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the man so he can be questioned in connection to the slayings of Clinton David Brink, age 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, age 41.

Clinton and Cristen Brink, who had recently moved to Prairie Grove from out of state, were spending the afternoon hiking in the park with their two young daughters, Addison Brink, 9, and Lila Brink, 7, when the tragic incident occurred. The couple was attacked on a popular walking trail. ASP investigators believe the suspect likely sustained an injury during the violent assault. Miraculously, Addison and Lila were unharmed and are now in the care of extended family members.

Family Statement: ‘They Died Protecting Their Girls’

On Monday, July 28, 2025, the Brink family released a public statement, written in part by Clinton’s brother, Derek Brink, and Cristen’s sister, Rachel Moore:

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult time as they grieve and learn how to navigate this new reality. They ask that if anyone has any information at all that will help the investigation, to please contact the proper authorities immediately. Clinton and Cristen died heroes, protecting their little girls, and they deserve justice. They will forever live on in all of our hearts.”

The tragedy has left both the Prairie Grove and broader northwest Arkansas communities in shock. Friends, coworkers, and neighbors of the Brinks have described them as loving parents, devoted partners, and generous community members. Cristen had recently begun volunteering at a local elementary school, and Clinton worked remotely as a software developer.

Suspect Description and Vehicle Information

Based on witness accounts and physical evidence, the person of interest is described as follows:

  • White male, medium build
  • Wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up (not a tank top as originally reported)
  • Dressed in dark pants, a dark baseball cap, and sunglasses
  • Carrying a black backpack and wearing fingerless gloves
  • Seen driving a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with the license plate obscured by electrical or duct tape

The vehicle was reportedly last seen traveling on State Highway 170 or State Highway 220, in proximity to Devil’s Den State Park, shortly after the time of the murders.

Call for Public Assistance

Arkansas State Police investigators are urging anyone who was at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday, July 26, between noon and 3:00 p.m., to review any photos, videos, or GoPro footage that might contain images of the man described above or the suspect’s vehicle. Even seemingly insignificant details could help move the investigation forward.

Residents in nearby areas, especially those living near the park’s borders or along the aforementioned highways, are also encouraged to check security or trail cameras for any suspicious activity. Investigators believe the suspect may have visible injuries and could have sought medical attention in the area or attempted to conceal his identity after the crime.

How to Submit Information

Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation should immediately contact Arkansas State Police Troop L at (479) 751-6663, Extension 2, or call 911. ASP noted that numerous calls have already been received and assured the public that all tips are being carefully reviewed. Voicemails will be returned as soon as possible.

The ASP Criminal Investigation Division (CID), led by Special Agent Jeffrey Wallace, is heading the investigation, working closely with Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Forest Service, FBI Little Rock Field Office, and local law enforcement agencies.

Investigation Continues

At approximately 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, Arkansas State Police were notified of the double homicide within the park’s trail system. Clinton and Cristen Brink were found deceased by another hiker, who immediately alerted authorities. ASP believes the attack was targeted and deliberate, but no clear motive has been established.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identity of the man in the released composite sketch remains unknown. Law enforcement agencies are treating the matter with the utmost urgency and are committed to ensuring justice is served for Clinton and Cristen Brink, and for the sake of their two surviving daughters.
