Cleveland, TX Man Arrested Following Multi-County Pursuit and Shootout Involving Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – July 29, 2025 — A coordinated law enforcement operation involving multiple agencies resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old Raul Alcantaria, of Cleveland, Texas, after he led deputies on a high-speed pursuit, fled on foot, and fired a weapon at law enforcement officers. Alcantaria is now facing numerous felony charges stemming from the incident and the underlying investigation.

The arrest stems from an ongoing case being handled by a detective with Montgomery County Constable’s Office Precinct 2 (#MCCO2), who is assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The investigation began as a probe into the online solicitation of a minor and quickly escalated once Alcantaria was identified as a suspect.

A Dangerous Encounter

On July 25, 2025, as deputies with Montgomery County Constable’s Office Precinct 4 (#MCCO4) attempted to arrest Alcantaria, the suspect fled in a vehicle, initiating a pursuit that continued across jurisdictional lines into Liberty County. In a terrifying escalation, Alcantaria discharged a firearm at pursuing officers, prompting a tactical response. Miraculously, no law enforcement officers or innocent bystanders were injured during the exchange.

Despite the threat, officers continued their pursuit and were ultimately able to safely apprehend Alcantaria. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Multiple Felony Charges Filed

Following his arrest, Alcantaria was booked on a range of serious felony charges, including:

•Online Solicitation of a Minor
