It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that the Savona Volunteer Fire Department extends its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Daniel and Julie Curtis, and to our brothers and sisters at the Bowmansville Volunteer Fire Company, on the heartbreaking loss of their beloved son, Adam Curtis.
This tragedy has deeply impacted our department and the wider fire service community. In times like these, words often fall short of capturing the depth of our shared grief. But we know one thing to be true: Adam was loved, and he will be remembered.
Daniel Curtis has long been more than just an OSHA instructor to so many of us in Savona and beyond. He has been a pillar of leadership, a voice of experience, and a constant source of wisdom and encouragement. His passion for safety and training has left an enduring mark on departments across the region. Many of us owe our preparedness—and even our lives—to the high standards and principles Daniel has instilled over the years.
That’s why this loss feels so personal. When one of our own is grieving, we all grieve together. The fire service is not just a profession or a calling; it is a family—a tightly woven brotherhood and sisterhood that spans stations, counties, and generations. And in that spirit, we stand united beside Daniel and Julie, offering not just our sympathy, but our strength.
To the members of Bowmansville Volunteer Fire Company: please know that your sorrow is felt far and wide. Your loss is our loss. Adam’s memory will remain with us, not just in words, but in actions—in every drill we run, every lesson we teach, and every life we strive to protect in his honor.
To Daniel and Julie: may you find solace in the love that surrounds you, and in knowing that Adam’s light lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and even in those who now grieve alongside you without ever having met him. His life touched more than you know, and his memory will never fade from our ranks.
We honor Adam, we mourn him, and we pledge to carry his spirit with us, always.
Rest in peace, Adam. You will never be forgotten.
With unwavering solidarity,
Savona Volunteer Fire Department
