Prattsburgh, NY — July 30, 2025 – Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard has announced the arrest of Emil Aliev, 33, of County Route 78, Prattsburgh, following a disturbing investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, on July 22, 2025, deputies and investigators arrested Aliev after it was reported that he had engaged in sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 13, causing harm. The incident is alleged to have occurred in the town of Prattsburgh, where both the suspect and the victim reside.
Aliev has been formally charged with:
- Rape in the First Degree, a Class B felony
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
Following his arrest, Aliev was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released on $7,500 bail, a decision made by the presiding judicial official. Sheriff Allard emphasized that the Sheriff’s Office does not determine bail amounts, which are set at the discretion of a judge or magistrate in accordance with New York State General Statute 15A-532.
“This case is extremely troubling,” said Sheriff Allard. “Protecting children is a foundational duty of law enforcement. Our team worked diligently and with great sensitivity to investigate this report and bring charges against the individual responsible.”
The child involved is receiving care and support through child advocacy and victim services resources. Authorities stated that this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is currently no further threat to the public. However, the Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with additional information to come forward.
