HINDS COUNTY, MISS. – A devastating collision on Mississippi Highway 18 near Fulton Place claimed the life of a young motorcyclist on Monday night, shaking the Utica community and leaving friends and family mourning the tragic loss. Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard confirmed the victim as 18-year-old Holly Young, a vibrant and beloved resident of Utica, Mississippi.

The fatal crash occurred around 8:40 p.m., according to a report released by the Jackson Police Department (JPD). Authorities say a passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound on MS-18 and attempted to execute a left turn across the westbound lanes, near Fulton Place. During the maneuver, the vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a motorcycle traveling westbound, resulting in a catastrophic broadside collision.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene. Despite their efforts, Holly Young was pronounced dead at the scene, her injuries too severe for any life-saving measures. No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash.

The driver of the passenger vehicle involved in the collision remained on the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators, authorities confirmed.
