Shooting on Lyte Circle: Dyer County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Domestic Incident, Suspect Craig Bolden Charged with Attempted First Degree Murder

DYER COUNTY, TN — A community is shaken and a young woman is fighting for her life following a domestic-related shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon in the Middle City Community of Dyer County. Authorities with the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 19-year-old Angela Hale was critically injured in a shooting that took place around 1:00 p.m. on July 31, 2025, on Lyte Circle, located just west of Dyersburg.

Deputies responded swiftly to the scene following reports of a disturbance and found Angela suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel from Dyer County EMS provided immediate life-saving care at the scene before Angela was airlifted to a Level One Trauma Center. Her condition remains critical, and she is currently receiving intensive medical treatment. Law enforcement officials and loved ones are urging the community to lift Angela up in thoughts and prayers as she continues her fight for survival.

The suspect in the shooting, Craig Bolden, a 19-year-old Black male from the area, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office has formally charged Bolden with Attempted First Degree Murder. Authorities noted that multiple witnesses were present inside the residence at the time of the shooting, and an active investigation is ongoing.

“This is a tragic and heartbreaking event that has left a family devastated,” said Sheriff Jeff Box. “Our team is committed to conducting a fair, thorough investigation and ensuring justice is served. We extend our deepest support to Angela and her loved ones. We are asking the community to come together and keep this young woman in their prayers.”

Sheriff Box also clarified that this shooting is not connected to the ongoing quadruple homicide investigation in neighboring Lake County, nor to the active manhunt for suspect Austin Robert Drummond.

Investigators are continuing to collect evidence and interview witnesses, and additional charges against Bolden may be forthcoming as the case develops.
