Shooting Suspects Apprehended – Multiple Firearms Recovered in Hermanville

Hermanville, July 30, 2025 — On the evening of July 29, 2025, at approximately 9:31 p.m., deputies from the county sheriff’s office responded swiftly to reports of an active shooting incident in the community of Hermanville. The initial call directed officers to a residence on Valley of the Moon where gunfire was reported. Shortly thereafter, additional calls indicated shots had also been fired at Michael Dean’s convenience store, a nearby location within Hermanville.

Deputies who were already patrolling the area quickly located a black Ford Focus suspected of discharging a firearm. What followed was a coordinated and careful pursuit, culminating in the safe stop of the vehicle. Three Black male suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Simultaneously, law enforcement officers responded to reports of a second vehicle involved near the shooting scenes. At the scene of an accident close to the shooting locations, four male individuals, all dressed in black, were observed attempting to flee. This vehicle was promptly searched as part of the ongoing investigation.

The investigation led to the recovery of multiple firearms from both vehicles. Among the weapons seized, law enforcement officials confirmed that some were illegally modified with devices known colloquially as “switches,” which convert semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic ones — a modification prohibited by law. Additionally, several firearms were determined to be stolen, further compounding the seriousness of the offenses.

Sheriff Edward Goods commended the deputies and investigative teams for their professionalism, vigilance, and swift action during this high-risk situation. “Our deputies acted with courage and precision to quickly apprehend these individuals and secure weapons that pose a grave threat to the safety of our community,” Sheriff Goods stated. “Removing these violent offenders and illegal firearms from our streets is critical in our ongoing fight against gun violence.”

All suspects are facing multiple charges related to the shootings, illegal possession of firearms, possession of stolen weapons, and other related offenses. They are scheduled to appear before Justice Court at 10:00 a.m. this morning.

Sheriff Goods will be petitioning the court to deny bond for the suspects, underscoring the administration’s commitment to ensuring that those who threaten public safety face immediate and strict consequences. “There must be no tolerance for senseless acts of violence,” Sheriff Goods affirmed. “We urge the court to stand firm and send a clear message that our communities deserve safety and peace.”

This investigation remains active, and law enforcement officials encourage anyone with additional information related to this incident to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
