Obituary: In Loving Memory of Kathy L. Lawson

With deep sorrow but abiding faith, we announce the passing of Kathy L. Lawson, age 69, of Cardale, Pennsylvania, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Kathy lived a life dedicated to service, faith, and love. Her unwavering devotion to God was the foundation of everything she did. She joyfully served in numerous roles throughout her life, most recently as church administrator at Fresh Fire Church in Uniontown, where she was also a cherished leader and active member. Kathy’s passion for worship, music, and the Word of God carried her through both joyful and challenging seasons. Her enduring faith remained unshaken, even in the darkest of times, and her life was a testament to God’s grace and strength.

Her heart found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchild, whom she loved dearly, as well as in her steadfast loyalty to Steelers football. Kathy’s happiest moments were spent both in the house of God and surrounded by family—always serving, always smiling, and always lifting others up with her warmth, compassion, and laughter.

Kathy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Earl and Catherine Savage of McHenry, Maryland; her brother, Lanny Savage of Mount Airy, Maryland; and her brother-in-law, Neil Henline of Brunswick, Ohio. She also endured the unimaginable loss of her two twin boys, Jason and Mark Lawson Jr., who she now rejoins in eternal peace.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Donna Wagner (Dale) of Oakland, Maryland; Connie Henline of Brunswick, Ohio; and sister-in-law Judy Savage of Mount Airy, Maryland. Her extended family of nieces and nephews will forever cherish her memory and the example she set.

Kathy’s legacy lives on through her beloved children: Carrie (Mickey) Frantz of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, along with step-grandchildren Hunter and Hannah Frantz, and her son Adam Lawson of Uniontown. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Brooke, Dakota, and McKenzie Lawson, and a doting great-grandmother to Warren Lawson, all of Dallas, Texas.

Also surviving is her loving partner, Rick Joseph, whose companionship brought laughter, comfort, and deep happiness into her later years.

Kathy’s memory will be honored with a memorial service on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Fresh Fire Church, 171 Connellsville Street, Uniontown, PA. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Donny Hinkle.

Arrangements are being handled by the Donald R. Crawford Funeral Home of Hopwood, PA.

In honor of Kathy’s life and ministry, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Fresh Fire Church, 171 Connellsville Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.

Kathy L. Lawson’s life was a shining example of devotion—to her family, her church, and most of all, to her faith. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, humility, and endless love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23

May her soul rest in the eternal peace of Christ.
