JOHNSTON, SC — With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church family announces the passing of two cherished and devoted members, Brenda Harris Talib and Patricia Williams. These two women, pillars of faith and service, went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering commitment to their church, community, and families.
The news of their passing has brought profound grief to the entire Pine Hill congregation and to the broader Johnston community. Both Brenda and Patricia were more than just familiar faces in the pews — they were faithful servants, prayer warriors, and motherly figures to many. Their presence, both in the sanctuary and beyond, touched countless lives over the years.
Remembering Brenda Harris Talib
Brenda Harris Talib was known for her quiet strength, her generous heart, and her deep faith in God. A longtime member of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Brenda served in various ministries over the years — including the Usher Board, Women’s Ministry, and the church hospitality committee. She could often be found welcoming visitors with a warm smile or preparing meals for community outreach programs.
Brenda lived her faith daily. Her kindness, her wisdom, and her ability to listen and uplift others made her a cherished mentor and friend. She raised her children and grandchildren in the church, instilling in them the same values of faith, humility, and service that she carried all her life. Her loss is deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
Honoring Patricia Williams
Patricia Williams was a vibrant spirit within the Pine Hill congregation — full of life, laughter, and compassion. She had a heart for worship and was a beloved member of the church choir, where her voice could lift spirits and bring a room to tears. Patricia also served faithfully in the church’s outreach and benevolence ministries, often taking the lead in visiting the sick, delivering meals, and comforting those in need.
Her energy was contagious, and her devotion to both God and her church family was unwavering. Patricia had a gift for making everyone feel seen and heard, and she never hesitated to offer words of encouragement or lend a helping hand. She will be missed not only for what she did, but for who she was — a woman of faith, grace, and boundless love.
