Stanley Aviles-Espaillat Obituary: 25-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in High-Speed Crash on West Tilghman Street

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – August 4, 2025 — The Lehigh Valley community is mourning the loss of Stanley Aviles-Espaillat, a 25-year-old motorcyclist from Allentown who tragically lost his life in the early hours of Sunday morning following a high-speed collision in the city. Authorities have confirmed that the fatal crash occurred around 3:20 a.m. on August 3 in the 300 block of West Tilghman Street, a corridor often marked by heavy traffic and dangerous curves.

According to Stephen J. Milkovits III, Captain of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Allentown Police Department, Aviles-Espaillat was traveling eastbound on Tilghman Street at a high rate of speed when the incident occurred. Preliminary findings suggest that a car ahead of him was attempting to make a U-turn when Aviles-Espaillat’s motorcycle crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and collided with the vehicle.

Emergency responders were dispatched quickly after the crash. When officers arrived, they found Aviles-Espaillat unconscious and critically injured in the roadway. He was immediately transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 8:15 a.m., despite efforts to save his life.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office confirmed that multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the collision led to Aviles-Espaillat’s death. Coroner Daniel A. Buglio has officially ruled the death accidental.

The driver of the car involved in the crash remained at the scene and is said to be fully cooperating with investigators, according to Captain Milkovits.
