On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 3:29 PM, officers were dispatched to Moonshine Market, located at 1001 E Main Street, following an emergency call reporting that an individual had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 16-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The teen was promptly stabilized at the scene by first responders before being transported to UVA Hospital for further treatment. Authorities have confirmed that the victim is expected to recover.
