St. Charles, IL – The St. Charles Police Department is deeply saddened to report a tragic accident that occurred on Sunday, July 27, 2025, resulting in the death of 49-year-old Kelly Carlson, a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of Wahlburgers, located in the 800 block of S. Randall Road.
At approximately 12:58 p.m., St. Charles Police and Fire personnel were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call reporting a traffic crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, first responders located the victim—later identified as Kelly Carlson of Blaine, Minnesota—and immediately rendered medical aid.
Ms. Carlson was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel and days of care, Ms. Carlson sadly succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver involved in the incident is a 20-year-old resident of St. Charles, who remained at the scene and has been fully cooperative with investigators. At this time, no citations or charges have been filed, and the investigation remains active and ongoing as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
The St. Charles Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Kelly Carlson during this profoundly difficult time.
