Fort Worth Police and Family Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Suspect in Deadly North Houston Street Shooting

FORT WORTH, TX — The Fort Worth Police Department, alongside the grieving Rangel family, is pleading with the public for help in locating a suspect involved in a tragic and fatal shooting that took place on June 15, 2025, in the 3700 block of North Houston Street. Authorities believe the suspect has fled the state of Texas and may now be hiding out with family members in California.

The shooting has left one man dead and two others injured, and investigators are now intensifying efforts to track down the individual responsible.

According to police, officers from the Northwest Division were dispatched to a shooting call shortly after the incident occurred. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel responded quickly, and both victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Sadly, one of the victims succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The second victim is expected to recover.

A third shooting victim—believed to have been injured during the same altercation—was driven to a local hospital by a private vehicle and is also expected to survive.

Party Turns Violent

Through the course of their investigation, Fort Worth PD detectives determined that the shooting stemmed from an altercation that took place during a party at a local residence. Witnesses say tensions flared when two women began arguing over one of the shooting victims. The confrontation escalated when unknown individuals arrived at the gathering, and a male suspect became involved in a physical altercation with one of the victims.

During the fight, the suspect reportedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire, striking three individuals. The scene quickly devolved into chaos as partygoers scrambled for safety.

After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, the make and model of which have not been publicly disclosed due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Suspect Believed to Have Fled Texas

As the investigation developed, law enforcement officials received credible information indicating the suspect has left Texas and is now believed to be in California, possibly staying with family members. While authorities have not released the suspect’s name at this time, they are urging anyone who may know the identity or whereabouts of the individual to come forward.

The Rangel family, mourning the loss of their loved one, is also asking for help from the community. “This act of violence took away someone we loved dearly,” a family member shared in a public plea. “We just want justice. We want the person who did this to be held accountable.”

Ongoing Investigation

The Fort Worth Police Department’s Homicide Unit continues to actively work the case and encourages anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, to contact detectives or submit an anonymous tip.
