It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the devastating loss of Reagan Lynn Wilson, a vibrant young mother-to-be, and her unborn son, Silas, whose lives were cut short in a senseless act of violence earlier this summer. Reagan, 28, was fatally shot at her home in Lebanon, Missouri, on June 5, 2025, and despite the efforts of medical teams, baby Silas passed away just over a week later, on June 13.
This horrific incident has shaken not only the Lebanon community but all who knew and loved Reagan. The tragedy has been further compounded by the arrest of Sidney Fredrick Wilson V, Reagan’s estranged husband and the father of Silas, who now faces murder charges in connection with both deaths.
A Beautiful Life Remembered
Reagan Lynn Wilson was more than a victim of an unthinkable crime—she was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a mother whose joy for life was contagious. Her loved ones describe her as fiercely compassionate, bright, and full of dreams. Reagan had a passion for helping others, a deep love for animals, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
She had been preparing to welcome baby Silas into the world with open arms, embracing motherhood with excitement and care. Her joy in pregnancy was palpable, and she shared her hopes for the future with those closest to her.
According to her obituary, Reagan and Sidney had separated prior to her death, and she had since found peace and companionship with a new significant other. The relationship with Silas’ father had become strained, but Reagan remained focused on building a safe and loving future for herself and her child.
The Investigation and Arrest
The Lebanon Police Department, in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies, launched a comprehensive investigation into the fatal shooting. A doorbell camera captured audio of the gunfire on the night of June 5. Initially, Sidney Fredrick Wilson V told police he had remained home the entire evening. However, investigators later determined that cell phone records and surveillance footage placed him near the scene at the time of the shooting.
Further investigation revealed that bullets found at the scene matched a firearm registered to Sidney. Footage from a neighboring property also reportedly captured an individual—later confirmed to be Sidney—near Reagan’s residence around the time of the incident.
In a troubling detail from the probable cause affidavit, officers stated that Sidney never once asked about Reagan or the progress of the investigation; instead, he was only concerned about retrieving his vehicle from the scene. This lack of empathy, combined with mounting physical evidence, ultimately led to his arrest.
Sidney Wilson now faces multiple felony charges, including two counts of murder—one for Reagan and another for the unborn baby, Silas.
A Community in Mourning
Lebanon Police Chief Jerry Harrison spoke on behalf of law enforcement and the community in a press release, saying:
“Our entire team grieves the loss of this young mother and her child. We are appalled by this tragic loss of life and will tirelessly seek justice for Reagan and her child.”
Since the news broke, tributes have poured in from across the region. Friends, neighbors, and even strangers have shared heartfelt messages remembering Reagan’s warmth, her strength, and her deep love for the life she was building. Local residents have left flowers and candles outside the home where she once dreamed of raising her son.
Honoring Reagan & Baby Silas
As those closest to Reagan attempt to process the unimaginable, they are holding tight to the joy she brought into their lives and the memory of a child they will never get to watch grow up. Silas, though never given the chance to take his first breath, will forever be remembered as a part of Reagan’s heart and legacy.
Funeral services for Reagan and baby Silas were held privately by the family, with an outpouring of community support and prayer. In the coming months, a memorial fund will be established in Reagan and Silas’s names to support victims of domestic violence and single mothers in need.
