Renee was a woman of remarkable strength, grace, and generosity. Together with her devoted husband, Rick Krekel, she co-founded Krekel’s North in 1987, transforming the former Woodford location into a staple of the community. Through hard work, vision, and an unshakable commitment to service, Renee and Rick built more than a business—they created a gathering place where families could come together, where regulars were greeted by name, and where employees were treated like family.
For decades, Renee poured her heart into every aspect of the business. Whether it was working behind the counter, organizing community events, or mentoring young employees, her dedication was evident in everything she did.
