Marlow Anthony Johnson Arrested in Connection with July Homicide of Tamia Logan

Cleveland County, NC – On July 18, 2025, deputies with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at 6920 Baker Drive, Apartment A-14. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a devastating scene: Tamia Logan, the resident of the home, had been fatally shot and was found deceased in the front yard. The investigation soon identified Marlow Anthony Johnson as the primary suspect in her death.

In the days that followed, the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office launched an extensive and far-reaching investigation into Logan’s death. Detectives worked tirelessly, following leads across county lines, interviewing witnesses, and collecting critical evidence that pointed to a suspect.

On July 23, 2025, law enforcement obtained arrest warrants for Marlow Anthony Johnson, born September 1, 1987, of 809 Philips Drive, Kings Mountain, NC, charging him in connection with the murder of Tamia Logan.

Today, August 5, 2025, after nearly two weeks of coordinated investigative work, Marlow Anthony Johnson was taken into custody in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the assistance of our law enforcement partners in Mecklenburg County.

“The loss of Tamia Logan was a senseless act of violence that shocked our community,” said Sheriff Leroy Norman. “Thanks to the dedication of our investigators and the support of our law enforcement partners in Mecklenburg County, the man believed to be responsible is now in custody. We hope this arrest brings some measure of comfort to Tamia’s family and loved ones.”
