MISSING 14-YEAR-OLD – HAMILTON POLICE SEEKING PUBLIC’S HELP IN LOCATING AYVA DIGIAMMATTEO

HAMILTON, ON — The Hamilton Police Service is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating 14-year-old Ayva DiGiammatteo, who has been reported missing and whose family is deeply concerned for her well-being.

Ayva was last seen by her family at approximately 7:30 a.m. on the morning of August 5, 2025, in the Henley Drive area of Hamilton. Authorities believe she may have boarded a bus headed toward Dundas, with a possible sighting around 10:00 a.m. near McMurray Street and Highway 8 (King Street West) in the Dundas area.

As of now, Ayva’s whereabouts remain unknown, and her disappearance is being treated with urgency by local law enforcement due to her young age and the potential risks involved.

Ayva DiGiammatteo is described as:

  • Female, white
  • 14 years old
  • 5 feet 2 inches tall
  • Medium build
  • Long brown hair, typically worn in a ponytail
  • Brown eyes
  • Last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, shorts, and possibly running shoes

The Hamilton Police Service Division 20 is leading the investigation and is appealing to anyone who may have seen Ayva or has any information about her location to come forward immediately.

“Ayva’s family is incredibly worried and just wants to know that she’s safe. We are asking anyone in the area or who may have seen her to contact us as soon as possible,” said a spokesperson for Hamilton Police.
