Orangeburg, SC — Sheriff Leroy Ravenell has announced the arrest and charges against a local man following a tragic shooting incident last week that left one man dead and another victim injured.
The accused, 19-year-old Trivinci Mack, faces serious charges including one count each of murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Sheriff Ravenell expressed deep frustration and sorrow over the senseless nature of the incident:
“Any way you look at it, it does not make any sense whatsoever. One person is gone, and another threw his life away. And for what? Nothing.”
The shooting occurred at approximately 9 p.m. last Thursday at a residence on Navy Drive, where Orangeburg County Sheriff’s deputies were called after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, deputies found 21-year-old Alexander Bloodworth lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities also found a woman at the scene who had sustained a gunshot wound.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that both victims were transported to medical facilities for treatment, though tragically, Alexander Bloodworth succumbed to his injuries. The female victim’s condition has not been publicly disclosed.
Trivinci Mack was apprehended shortly after the incident and is currently in custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, where he will be formally informed of his rights and the charges against him.
Sheriff Ravenell emphasized the devastating impact violent crime has on families and the community:
“This type of violence tears families apart and leaves lasting scars on the entire community. Our deputies are committed to ensuring justice is served and making our neighborhoods safer.”
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the case.
This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the consequences of gun violence and the urgent need for community awareness and intervention.
Further updates will be provided as the case develops.
