VINCENNES, IN – The community of Vincennes is mourning the tragic and unexpected death of 30-year-old Taylor Hendershot, who was found deceased earlier today, Monday, August 4, 2025, in the parking lot of Cardinals Liquor, located at 2101 N. Sixth Street.
The discovery was confirmed by Knox County Coroner Joe Millspaugh Jr., who issued a press release providing preliminary details. According to the release, emergency personnel responded to the scene earlier in the day after receiving a report of an unresponsive person outside the establishment. Upon arrival, Hendershot was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, the cause and manner of death remain undetermined. Coroner Millspaugh stated that an autopsy has been scheduled, which will hopefully provide further clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding Hendershot’s death.
The Knox County Coroner’s Office is currently working closely with the Vincennes City Police Department, who have taken the lead in the ongoing investigation.
