ARREST MADE IN FATAL BATON ROUGE SHOOTING – NOLEN DANIELS CHARGED WITH MURDER

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) has made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at 200 East Buchanan Street on October 10, 2024. Police have identified and arrested 21-year-old Nolen Daniels for his alleged role in the deadly incident that claimed the life of Daryl Hamilton and injured another.

According to investigators, officers responded to the scene last October following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Daryl Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, whose identity has not been publicly released, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After months of investigation, BRPD determined that Nolen Daniels was a suspect in the case. Daniels has since been charged with First-Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder. Authorities revealed that Daniels was already incarcerated on an unrelated charge at the time of his arrest for the shooting.

Extensive Criminal History

Law enforcement also noted that Daniels is no stranger to the criminal justice system. His previous charges include:

  • Handling of Machine Guns
  • Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Aggravated Escape

This disturbing pattern of violent and dangerous behavior has made him a known figure in local law enforcement circles. BRPD emphasized that the arrest was the result of collaborative efforts and thorough investigative work aimed at bringing justice to the victims and their families.

Ongoing Investigation

While Daniels is now facing serious charges, BRPD has not ruled out the possibility of additional suspects or further developments in the case. The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Baton Rouge Police Department or Crime Stoppers.

This arrest marks a significant step toward justice for Daryl Hamilton’s loved ones and provides a measure of closure to the community deeply affected by the violence.
