Arrest Made in Fatal Stabbing of Brianna E. Best

Reidsville, NC On Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, at approximately 5:37 p.m., the Reidsville Police Department responded to a reported disturbance in the 800 block of Summit Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 27-year-old Brianna E. Best, of Greensboro, unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Emergency responders from Rockingham County EMS provided immediate medical attention and transported Ms. Best to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

Following a swift investigation, Ana Tonche-Garza was arrested and formally charged with Voluntary Manslaughter in connection to the death of Ms. Best. Tonche-Garza is currently being held on a $1,000,000 secured bond, with her first court appearance scheduled for August 20, 2025.

At this time, the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no known threat to the general public. The investigation is still active, and detectives are continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
