The crash, which has left one person dead, came after the Orange Beach Police Department initiated a chase involving a vehicle of interest. According to officials, the pursuit was subsequently called off before the vehicle ultimately crashed. The Gulf Shores Police Department (GSPD) clarified that they were not involved in the chase but became aware of the incident when their officers drove down a dead-end road in the Laguna Beach area during routine patrol and discovered the wrecked vehicle.
Upon arrival, Gulf Shores officers confirmed that the driver had sustained fatal injuries in the crash. No passengers were reported to be in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The name of the deceased individual has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
