SAN CARLOS, AZ — In the early hours of August 8, 2025, the San Carlos Apache Police Department (SCAPD) responded swiftly to a drive-by shooting targeting the home of the victim family, which included Xavier Parra and Camryn Phillips, in the New Moonbase neighborhood.
At approximately 1:52 a.m., officers arrived at a residence that had been struck by gunfire while the family was inside. Fortunately, no one was injured during the attack. The quick response and investigation by SCAPD led to the rapid identification and apprehension of the suspects involved.
Incident and Arrest Details
Officers soon located a black Dodge Durango, suspected to be the vehicle used in the shooting, and pulled it over. Inside the vehicle were Xavier Parra, a non-native individual, and Camryn Phillips, a tribal member and part of the San Carlos Apache Tribe (SCAT).
Upon searching the vehicle, officers found spent shell casings as well as the firearm believed to have been used in the drive-by shooting. This evidence played a key role in linking the suspects directly to the crime.
Charges Filed Against Suspects
Xavier Parra, identified as the driver of the vehicle, was charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Conspiracy
- Criminal Liability of Another
- Misconduct Involving Weapons
- Facilitation
- Drive-By Shooting
Parra was booked into the Graham County Jail shortly after arrest.
Camryn Phillips, identified as the shooter, faces a broad array of charges, including:
- Disorderly Conduct
- Endangerment (5 counts)
- Aggravated Assault
- Conspiracy
- Criminal Damage
- Endangering the Welfare of a Minor (3 counts)
- Misuse of Firearms
- Misconduct Involving Weapons
- Tampering with Evidence
- False Reporting
Phillips is currently held at the San Carlos Detention Center.
