The Shreveport Police Department is actively investigating a tragic shooting that occurred Saturday night, leaving a 12-year-old boy dead. The incident took place at approximately 8:48 p.m. on West 74th Street, near the intersection of Linwood Avenue in the Cedar Grove neighborhood.
According to authorities, the young male victim sustained a gunshot wound to his chest. In a desperate attempt to save his life, the victim’s 19-year-old brother transported him to Ochsner Health Hospital. Despite medical efforts, the boy’s injuries were described as serious and life-threatening, and he sadly passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The Shreveport Police Department has launched a full-scale investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for this heartbreaking act of violence. Detectives are currently gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses in the area to piece together what led to this fatal shooting.
