BEAUMONT, TX — On June 21, 2025, shortly before 1:44 p.m., Beaumont police responded to reports of a shooting on the 1900 block of Delaware Street that left one man dead in a shocking act of violence.
According to authorities, the suspect, identified as 53-year-old Larry Fitzgerald Williams, arrived at the victim’s residence on a motorcycle and opened fire on 51-year-old Brian Keith Lewis while Lewis was mowing his lawn. Tragically, Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Surveillance footage captured the suspect wearing a motorcycle helmet, black long-sleeved clothing, and lighter-colored pants as he fled the area on the motorcycle, later confirmed to be a Hyabusa, matching witness descriptions. Williams was seen in possession of a revolver at the time of the shooting.
During the ensuing investigation, Beaumont police uncovered a troubling history between the two men. Williams was scheduled to stand trial in July for an aggravated assault charge stemming from an incident involving Lewis in 2024. Investigators revealed that Williams had repeatedly threatened Lewis, demanding he drop the charges or face deadly consequences.
Multiple tips received by detectives corroborated Williams’ ownership of the Hyabusa motorcycle and placed him at the scene around the time of the shooting. Witnesses described a man matching Williams’ height and weight, spotted with a revolver on several occasions in the days leading up to the fatal attack.
On August 6, 2025, a Jefferson County grand jury indicted Williams on charges of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and capital murder for retaliation. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail with a combined bond of $10,100,000.
