South Bend Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting Outside Northwest Side Bar

SOUTH BEND, IN – Authorities in South Bend are investigating a shooting that left one man seriously injured early Sunday morning outside a bar on the city’s northwest side.

According to the South Bend Police Department, the incident occurred on August 10, just before 3 a.m., in the 1500 block of Portage Avenue, near My Place Bar & Grill. Officers were already in the area when they heard multiple gunshots ring out from the direction of the bar.

Responding immediately, police arrived on scene and discovered a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel treated the man at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
