Chesterfield Fatal Hit-and-Run Update: Investigation Continues After Pedestrian Struck by Multiple Vehicles

Chesterfield, VA — Authorities have released new details regarding the fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of Krystal T. Parker, 27, who was tragically struck by multiple vehicles while crossing Hull Street Road westbound.

According to Chesterfield County Police, the incident occurred when Parker, a resident of the 11100 block of Boydton Plank Road in Brunswick County, was crossing Hull Street Road. She was struck sequentially by four different vehicles. The drivers of the first two vehicles fled the scene immediately after the collision, while the drivers of the latter two vehicles remained on site and cooperated with law enforcement.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Parker was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

In the wake of the investigation, police located the driver of the first vehicle, Karen G. Palma Martinez, 27, near the intersection of Hull Street Road and Mockingbird Lane. The second vehicle’s driver, Kevin C. Bingham, 33, was found at a nearby gas station close to Hull Street Road and Fordham Road. Both Palma Martinez, who resides on the 6800 block of Full Rack Circle, and Bingham, of the 6900 block of Gateline Drive, were found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Authorities arrested both individuals and charged them with driving under the influence (DUI) and felony hit-and-run. Palma Martinez was released on bond on Sunday, August 10, while Bingham was released on bond the following day, Monday, August 11.

Chesterfield County Police continue to pursue the investigation vigorously. Officials have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges as more information comes to light.
