OHIO – Authorities have arrested two men in connection with the disturbing death of a pregnant woman whose body was discovered inside a plastic tote along a roadway earlier this week. Police have identified the victim as Brittany Fuhr-Storms, and confirmed that her unborn child also did not survive.
According to investigators, the grim discovery was made after law enforcement received a call about a suspicious object left on the side of the road. Upon inspection, officers found the tote containing Fuhr-Storms’ remains. Detectives immediately launched an intensive investigation that led to the arrest of two suspects.
One of the men, identified as James Rothenbusch, allegedly told police that Fuhr-Storms died inside his home “under suspicious circumstances.” Authorities say Rothenbusch admitted to keeping her body there for several days before ultimately disposing of it in the plastic container. The other suspect’s identity has not yet been publicly released, but officials confirmed that both men are in custody and facing multiple charges.
Police have not disclosed the exact cause of Fuhr-Storms’ death, pending autopsy results, but have emphasized that the investigation is being treated as a homicide. Detectives are working to determine the circumstances leading up to her death, as well as the role each suspect played.
The case has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents expressing outrage over the brutality and disregard for human life—both for Brittany and her unborn child. Friends and family members have described Fuhr-Storms as a loving, vibrant woman who was eagerly anticipating motherhood.
Authorities are urging anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward. Police are also reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses to piece together the final days of Fuhr-Storms’ life.
Prosecutors are expected to announce formal charges in the coming days, and both suspects remain in custody pending court appearances.
This tragic case has reignited conversations about violence against pregnant women, with advocacy groups calling for stronger protections and harsher penalties for those found guilty of such crimes.
