Remembering Hannah Rose Moody — A Life of Faith, Adventure, and Love

It is with both deep grief and heartfelt gratitude that we share the news that Hannah Rose Moody was welcomed into the arms of Jesus while hiking near the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona — just one week shy of her 32nd birthday.

Hannah’s sudden passing has left her family, friends, and all who knew her stunned and heartbroken. Yet, even in this moment of sorrow, there is comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, embraced by the eternal love of her Savior.

Born with a vibrant spirit and a heart for both people and the outdoors, Hannah was the kind of person who sought beauty in every corner of life. Whether it was the stillness of a sunrise, the laughter shared with loved ones, or the thrill of reaching a mountain summit, she embraced each day with joy and gratitude. Hiking was one of her greatest passions — a way for her to connect with God’s creation, refresh her soul, and share special moments with others.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Hannah lived with a quiet yet powerful trust in God, and her actions reflected her beliefs — from the kindness she extended to strangers to the deep, unwavering love she poured into her family and friends. She had a gift for encouraging others, reminding them of their worth and inspiring them to live boldly.

To know Hannah was to experience genuine warmth and authenticity. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who made others feel seen, heard, and valued. Her laugh was contagious, her smile radiant, and her compassion boundless.

Her final hike, though tragically cut short, was a reflection of how she lived — pursuing adventure, appreciating beauty, and walking in faith. Those who hiked alongside her in life will remember her as someone who never took a single step for granted and who encouraged others to keep going, even when the path was steep.

In this time of mourning, Hannah’s loved ones take solace in their faith and the promise of reunion in eternity. While her absence will be felt in countless ways, her life serves as a reminder to cherish every day, love deeply, and walk closely with God.

A celebration of Hannah’s life will be held in the coming days, where stories of her joy, courage, and faith will be shared. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to causes that were close to Hannah’s heart, including outdoor ministry programs and organizations that connect people with nature and faith.

Though her time on earth was far too short, Hannah Rose Moody’s legacy will continue to shine through the lives she touched, the mountains she climbed, and the faith she carried so steadfastly. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
