Tragic Shooting Incident on Prune Street in West Monroe Leaves One Dead, One Injured

On August 11, 2025, the West Monroe Police Department responded to a distressing report of a shooting on the 100 block of Prune Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two female victims, marking the beginning of a tragic and complex investigation.

The first victim, 19-year-old Emma Bueno, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. The severity of her injuries raised immediate concerns for her survival, and she remains under close medical care.

Tragically, the second victim, a 17-year-old juvenile female, was pronounced deceased at the scene due to an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities have not released her name, respecting the family’s privacy during this difficult time.

Through statements provided by witnesses at the scene and from the surviving victim, investigators quickly identified a suspect in the shooting: Andricko Lamon Lewis Jr., 21, the ex-boyfriend of Ms. Bueno.

Law enforcement agencies coordinated a search that led to locating Lewis with the Ouachita Sheriff’s Office. Upon being approached, Lewis fled the scene in one of the victims’ vehicles, initiating a high-speed pursuit involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The pursuit ended tragically when Lewis was found deceased inside the vehicle from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, effectively ending the immediate threat but compounding the sorrow surrounding the incident.

The West Monroe Police Department extends its gratitude to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Monroe Police Department, and the Louisiana State Police for their swift and collaborative assistance in responding to this critical situation.

As of now, the case remains under active investigation as authorities work to piece together the full sequence of events leading up to the shooting. The department asks for patience and understanding from the community as the investigation continues, and they encourage anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.

This heartbreaking event serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of violence and the ongoing need for community awareness and intervention in situations involving domestic conflict. The West Monroe Police Department is committed to providing justice for the victims and supporting their families through this difficult time.
