According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, 34-year-old Cherez Davis discharged her weapon twice during the 11th Annual Back-to-School Health Fair on August 9, 2025, sending shockwaves of fear through the crowd of more than 100 children, parents, and community members.
Authorities say the altercation began when Davis’ son became involved in a physical confrontation with another child at the event.
