Colorado Springs, CO — Authorities have identified 26-year-old Matthew Campbell as the victim of a deadly traffic crash that occurred along South Academy Boulevard on July 29, 2025.
According to Colorado Springs police, Campbell was traveling at a high rate of speed during the morning commute when a vehicle pulled out in front of him near Pace Drive. The collision caused severe injuries, and Campbell was transported to a local hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on July 31.
This crash marks the 33rd traffic-related fatality in Colorado Springs so far this year, surpassing the total of 32 traffic deaths reported at the same time last year. Police continue to emphasize the dangers of speeding and the importance of safe driving practices, especially during busy commute hours.
